The Information Technology Professional program is a two year program where students gain highly marketable skills in computer networking and systems administrative support. The program enables students to become proficient in the practices and techniques used in the management of modern IT networking infrastructures including wired and wireless networks. Throughout the program, students will gain proficiency in Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, Windows Server administration, disaster recovery, and the configuration of networks and network services, security from desktop to enterprise.
This program creates a unique, stimulating learning environment in which students can safely master current workplace business requirements, resulting in a smooth transition from education to employment. Opportunities are provided to learn operating systems, business application deployment and networking technologies. Instructional methodology across all courses integrates discovery – learning techniques, real-life simulations and hands-on applications. Students apply their acquired knowledge and skills to industry-based cases, simulations and projects. In addition, students will expand their business and leadership skills through participating in three collaborative team projects and co-op in the final term. Foundational knowledge for a variety of professional certification exams will be provided, including: A , Windows 7 and Cisco CCNA certification. Certification requirements are listed at microsoft.com, cisco.org and comptia.org. Additional prep time and fees will be required.
